BOSTON Aug 27 (Reuters) - Oracle Corp (ORCL.O) Co-President Safra Catz is stepping aside from her position as the company's chief financial officer, a post she has held for three years, the software maker said on Wednesday.

The company named Jeff Epstein, 52, to the post of CFO and executive vice president, effective in September.

He will report to Catz.

Epstein most recently served as CFO of Oberon Media, a privately held Internet game technology provider and publisher. He previously worked at DoubleClick, King World Productions, and ADVO.

Catz, 46, took the CFO post in November 2005. She has been a co-president of the company since January 2004.

Chief Executive Larry Ellison tapped Catz to fill the CFO post following the resignation of Greg Maffei, a former Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O) executive who unexpectedly left Oracle less than five months after joining the software maker. (Reporting by Jim Finkle; Editing by Gary Hill)
