"We are especially proud of this new community," said Brian
Talley, co-owner of Las Ventanas, "because it's really the culmination
of my father's dream, and it offers others the chance to experience
what we grew up with - the beauty and peace that this area is famous
for, protected forever by a permanent open space agreement."

The Talley family's farming legacy dates to 1948 when Brian's
grandfather, Oliver Talley, established Talley Farms. Oliver's son,
Don, began growing high quality wine grapes on the steep hillsides
above the family vegetable farm, creating Talley Vineyards, in 1986.
The winery has come to be recognized as one of California's premier
producers of chardonnay and pinot noir wines. Don Talley envisioned
the Las Ventanas project in the mid 1990s and worked on the project
until his untimely death in 2006.

In its multi-faceted and collaborative efforts to create a
community that is both beautiful and sustainable, with a deep and
abiding respect for the land and its history, Las Ventanas is unique.

"When Californians from other parts of the state think of
retirement, they often think of relocating to our scenic slice of
paradise," said Brian Talley, co-owner of Las Ventanas. "We believe
that Las Ventanas - which means the windows in Spanish - is just what
they have in mind."

In keeping with their well-known generosity to the community, the
Talleys have pledged a portion of the first 15 sales to their county's
newest cancer center, Arroyo Grande Hospital's Coastal Cancer Care and
Diagnostic Center. A welcome message and brief presentation to the
Arroyo Grande Hospital Foundation is planned for Saturday, and Talley
Vineyards & Farms family and staff will be on hand to serve and to
answer questions throughout the weekend. The event is free of charge
and open to the public.
