Rackable Systems Supports Rapidly Expanding Zoho Infrastructure
FREMONT, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
Rackable Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:RACK), a leading provider of
servers and storage for large-scale data centers, today announced that
Zoho, a division of AdventNet Inc., has deployed Rackable Systems'
patented half-depth servers to host their extensive suite of online
software, including a word processor, spreadsheets, wikis, CRM and
project management applications.

Zoho's robust portfolio of Web-native applications is an
attractive option for consumers and small businesses looking for
inexpensive, user-friendly business tools. As the company's customer
base continued to grow, AdventNet, the enterprise management software
provided behind Zoho, looked to Rackable Systems to help build out
their back end infrastructure. And while Zoho provides the IT
infrastructure for tens of thousands of businesses, Rackable Systems
provides physical infrastructure for Zoho.

"When our customer base surged past one million, it became
increasingly important to find a server vendor that was able to scale
with us," said Neil Butani, vice president of Operations. "Rackable
Systems' servers are extremely efficient and their unique back-to-back
architecture allowed us to increase our density within our existing
data center footprint."

By hosting their productivity, collaboration and business
applications on Rackable Systems' Eco-Logical(TM) servers, AdventNet
has met and exceeded Zoho's requirement for an efficient and scalable
solution. The deployment, made up of multiple 44U cabinets with
DC-Powered servers running low-wattage Intel(R) Quad Core processors,
is spread across multiple physical locations. The company estimates
that this configuration has saved them about 20 to 25 percent in power
and cooling costs over the past 18 months. Rackable Systems
architected the solution with AC to DC rectifiers inside the cabinets
allowing Zoho an unsurpassed level of reliability and redundancy.

"Our built-to-order server designs are ideal for SaaS leaders like
Zoho who require component flexibility, reliability and best-in-class
density," said Tony Carrozza, senior vice president of worldwide sales
and marketing at Rackable Systems. "With our Eco-Logical server
solutions, Zoho will realize increasing energy and cost savings as
they continue to scale within their existing data center environment."
