FACTBOX: Speaker lineup for the Republican convention

(Reuters) - John McCain will accept the Republican presidential nomination at the party convention in St. Paul, Minn. in the first week of September. Here is a list of key speakers:

MONDAY, September 1

President George W. Bush will speak on the convention's opening day, which will emphasize national service.

Other speakers include Vice President Dick Cheney, first lady Laura Bush, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and House Republican Leader John Boehner.

Also scheduled are: Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, a possible vice presidential pick for McCain; California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger; Texas Gov. Rick Perry; and Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, who was the Democratic Party's vice presidential candidate in 2000.

TUESDAY, September 2

Three of McCain's former rivals for the nomination -- former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson -- will speak on a day designed to emphasize McCain's record as a reformer.

Other speakers include: former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, a possible vice-presidential pick; Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin; Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman; and Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle.

WEDNESDAY, September 3

McCain's vice presidential nominee will speak on a day which will focus on McCain's economic proposals.

Other speakers include: Cindy McCain, the candidate's wife; former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a one-time rival for the nomination and possible vice-presidential pick; former eBay Inc. CEO Meg Whitman; former Hewlett-Packard Co. CEO Carly Fiorina; Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, and Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman.

THURSDAY, September 4

McCain will accept the nomination on a day that will focus on national security and foreign affairs.

Other speakers include Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and Florida Sen. Mel Martinez.
