UPDATE 1-Turkey's Akcansa targets $715 mln turnover in 2008

ISTANBUL, Sept 2 (Reuters) - Turkish cement producer Akcansa (AKCNS.IS) is targeting revenue of over 850 million lira ($715 million) in 2008, the general manager of the company Hakan Gurdal said on Tuesday.

The company, which is owned by Sabanci Holding (SAHOL.IS) and Heidelberg Cement Group (HEIG.DE), had sales of 690.1 million lira in 2007.

Akcansa's first-half net profit fell 31 percent to 69.97 million lira as sales rose 18 percent to 405 million lira.

The company will make investments of $20 million in the second half of this year, and plans $30 million in energy investments in 2009, Gurdal said. (Reporting by Tolgahan Ozkan; Editing by Erica Billingham)
