NEW YORK, Sept 2 (Reuters) - Teradyne Inc (TER.N), which makes equipment used to test products, said on Tuesday it agreed to acquire Eagle Test Systems Inc. EGLT.O for about $250 million.

Terms of the deal call for Eagle Test, which makes analog, mixed-signal and radio frequency semiconductor testing products, to be purchased for $15.65 per share in cash. Shares of the company closed at $14.18 on Friday.

The deal is expected to add to Teradyne's earnings for 2009 after excluding purchase accounting effects, the company said in a statement. (Reporting by Paul Thomasch)
