FlexWave Universal Radio Head Systems Ensure Cellular Connectivity
MINNEAPOLIS--(Business Wire)--
ADC (NASDAQ: ADCT)(www.adc.com) today announced that its
FlexWave(TM) Universal Radio Head (URH) systems will deliver seamless
cellular services for capacity crowds inside the Xcel Energy Center in
Saint Paul on September 1-4, 2008. In addition to the convention
center, ADC systems also have been deployed at the adjacent Saint Paul
River Centre and Roy Wilkins Auditorium. The nine URH systems will
ensure reliable, consistent wireless voice and data services for
convention visitors throughout the facilities. ADC supplied the
FlexWave URH systems to NewPath Networks, a wireless neutral host
company building the network for the convention sites.

"Supporting tens of thousands of visitors to the Republican
National Convention with clear and consistent wireless service is an
extremely important project for us," said Mike Kavanagh, president and
CEO of NewPath Networks. "We selected ADC's FlexWave URH system
because it allows us to blanket a large indoor area like the Xcel
Energy Center with multi-carrier coverage in a very cost-effective
manner."

ADC's FlexWave URH systems provides focused in-building and urban
coverage with easily-deployable units that can support multiple
frequencies and wireless services while providing a platform for
network sharing reducing the total cost of ownership in an unobtrusive
package.

At the three convention venues, visitors will enjoy improved,
gapless wireless coverage and capacity from wall-mounted FlexWave URH
systems or, in some instances, systems mounted to catwalks throughout
the facilities. The highly flexible URH systems distribute coverage
from centralized radio suites and offer unmatched scalability and
compatibility for the growing number of protocols and frequencies in
today's demanding wireless networks.

"We have seen strong interest from major carriers in our FlexWave
system since it was announced last year," said Tony LeFebvre, director
of product management for ADC. "We are pleased to be supplying Xcel
Energy Center, especially since it's in ADC's corporate headquarters
cities. And because it allows us to illustrate the effectiveness of
our solution in meeting the huge demand created for seamless coverage
and capacity."
