Gustav Disrupts $5,000 Watermelon Video Contest; Sundia Corporation Extends Deadline to Sept. 21

OAKLAND, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
Sundia Corporation, the nation's fastest growing produce brand, is
extending the entry deadline for its $5,000 watermelon video contest
to Sept. 21 to accommodate those living on the Gulf Coast who planned
to participate.

"Watermelon is usually featured during Labor Day Weekend, but
because of Gustav, picnics and barbecues have been the last thing on
people's minds this past weekend," said Dan Hoskins, chief operating
officer of Sundia Corporation. "To give Gulf Coast residents more time
to participate, we decided to extend the deadline by two weekends."

Sundia launched the "Melon Mania" video contest on YouTube in
August and originally planned to close the contest by midnight Sept.
4. The new deadline allows participants to submit their videos through
midnight, Sept. 21. The winning video will be announced on Oct. 1 and
will be chosen based on its originality, creativity, general appeal,
and how well it succeeds in motivating people to eat more Sundia
melons will be announced on Oct. 1.

Official contest rules can be found at www.sundiafruit.com.
