GTSI Granted 2nd Year Renewal on $63 Million Federal Aviation Administration
Contract

CHANTILLY, Va., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GTSI (R) Corp. (Nasdaq:
GTSI) an IT enterprise infrastructure solutions and services provider to
government, today announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has
exercised the second option year on its SAVES (Strategic Sourcing for the
Acquisition of Various Equipment and Supplies) contract. Awarded two months
early, the IDIQ contract (indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity) is worth
$63 million when all options are exercised. To date, the FAA has spent over
$23 million.

The contract was awarded under the Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative
(FSSI), and is based on OMB (Office of Management and Budget) mandates calling
for agencies to consolidate their technology infrastructures. So far, the
SAVES program has helped the FAA standardize on technology, source goods and
services more efficiently, and effectively monitor information technology (IT)
spending.
"We appreciate the confidence that the FAA has shown in GTSI by exercising
the second option year two months early," said Tom Kennedy, GTSI Vice
President of Sales. "The FAA has exceeded its stated goals of saving on
administrative costs and being more responsive to its constituency from an
acquisition standpoint. In maximizing technology infrastructure
redevelopment, the FAA's leadership exemplifies what can be done when an
agency implements a sound strategic sourcing policy."
The FAA is responsible for the regulation of air traffic and navigation
for civilian and military aircraft as well as ensuring the operational safety
of civilian aviation and the regulation of commercial space transportation.
Utilizing contracts such as FAA SAVES allows the Agency to reduce the burden
of technology solution acquisition and deployment by leveraging GTSI's
experience in delivering quality integrated products and services.
"As the sole awardee of the SAVES contract for server, storage, and
network infrastructure, we are proud that our role in architecting solutions
and providing guidance on evolving IT standards and standards implementation
has been an integral part of the success of the program. We look forward to
continuing to work with the FAA to deliver critical technology solutions to
help them meet their mandated mission," said Kennedy.
