Fujitsu Scanners Selected as 'Editor's Choice' in Better Buys for Business
2008 Scan-to-File Guide
Fujitsu Production, Network, Departmental and Workgroup Scanners Recognized by
the Leading Guide for Office Equipment
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/- Fujitsu Computer Products of
America, Inc., a market leader in document imaging scanners and services,
today announced that seven Fujitsu scanners earned the "Editor's Choice"
designation in the Better Buys for Business 2008 Scan-to-File Guide. The
Fujitsu fi-6130, fi-6230, fi-6140, fi-6240, fi-5530C2, fi-5900C and the
fi-6000NS were selected among a field of scanning manufacturers for a number
of features, including versatility, paper handling, advanced speeds, and
superior software bundling. The guide will be published in the September issue
of Better Buys for Business.
Better Buys for Business is the leading independent buyer's guide for
office imaging equipment, including printers, copiers, multifunctional
devices, faxes, and scanners. The publication evaluates hundreds of models
from all major manufacturers, but selects only one or two from each category
to receive the coveted "Editor's Choice" award -- gifted only after rigorous
analysis of functionality and ability. This independent resource aims to aid
organizations and consumers in making smarter peripheral purchasing decisions.
The fi-6000NS Network Scanner can be used to scan documents to email,
scan-to-networked fax, scan-to-print, or scan-to-network folders, and is
regarded as an excellent choice for those who need a top-quality shared
scanner. With a low price point and advanced imaging features, the fi-6000NS
was selected by the editors because of its rich feature set and network
connectivity.
Also recognized for its affordable price tag, the fi-5530C2 was selected
for the "Editor's Choice" award because of its flexibility, provided by the
TWAIN and ISIS drivers, its light weight, ledger-sized paper scanning, and
superior software bundling including Kofax VRS Pro, Fujitsu ScandAll Pro, and
Adobe Acrobat.
The fi-6130 and fi-6230 were selected for their solid feature sets,
adaptability, and affordable pricing, while the slightly higher-end scanners,
the Fujitsu fi-6140 and fi-6240, won praise for its advanced paper handling
and were rated "especially outstanding" for enabling duplex color scanning
without compromising speed.
In the production scanning segment, the Fujitsu fi-5900C won over the
editors who were "very impressed" with its combined speeds and advanced
features, heavy scanning volumes and paper handling of unconventional
materials, such as taped or attached documents including sticky notes and
receipts. The text and photo separation, blank page removal and text
orientation were also applauded by the editors.
"Fujitsu strives to create quality scanners that address a broad range of
business applications, from building efficiencies to helping organizations
identify and execute a document workflow strategy," said Scott Francis, senior
director of product marketing, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc.
"We've continued to build on our product line to address the changing needs of
our customers and offer advanced products at competitive prices. This Editor's
Choice recognition further validates our commitment to evolving our products
with the industry changes."
