CAMBRIDGE, MA, Sep 02 (MARKET WIRE) --
MetaCarta, Inc., the leading provider of geographic search and referencing
solutions, today announced a partnership with Ardent Management Consulting
(ArdentMC). Under the agreement, ArdentMC will integrate MetaCarta
solutions with Federal, State, and Local Homeland Security systems.
ArdentMC Consultants provide system development solutions for the
Department of Homeland Security's Integrated Common Analytical Viewer
(iCAV) Program, a geospatial-intelligence analytic tool that allows DHS
and its mission partners to better prepare, prevent, respond and recover
from natural and man-made disasters. The iCAV System unites Homeland
Security mission partners through an integrated geographic information
system for web-based dissemination, analysis and visualization.

ArdentMC Consultants identified the need to visualize unstructured event
and real-time feeds to support an active iCAV user, the DHS National
Operation Center (NOC). The DHS NOC distributes event information on a
daily basis to DHS, Military, Civilian Agencies and Federal Partners.
"However, without a geospatial context to critical infrastructure in the
surrounding area, DHS decision-makers cannot quickly conduct impact
analysis or best coordinate with the correct HLS partners for response
assistance," said Brandon Labonte, President of ArdentMC. "ArdentMC
leveraged the MetaCarta's geographic search and referencing solutions to
create a prototype for the DHS iCAV Program to streamline data exchange
and improve information sharing with HLS Partners at State/Local Emergency
Operation Centers."

"More than 80% of all unstructured data has some type of geographic
reference; however, today's search solutions are unable to find references
beyond the location name because geographic language is inherently
ambiguous. It is critical for DHS to gain a complete picture of what is
happening in a particular location during a crisis, and MetaCarta's
solution are able to find all of the information about a particular
place," said John Donnelly III, Vice President of Sales and Field
Operations for MetaCarta. "ArdentMC combines technical, program
management and geospatial expertise with a high level of commitment to
their clients and we look forward to a successful partnership."
