The Global Health IT Report Gives a Comprehensive Analysis of the Global Health IT Industry Landscape

DUBLIN, Ireland--(Business Wire)--

has announced the addition of the "Global Health IT Review" report to
their offering.

The Global Health IT Report gives a summary and analysis of major
deals, strategic collaborations, mergers and acquisitions, and key
players changing the Global Health IT industry landscape.

The health IT market, despite the global economic slowdown and
fears of a U.S recession, is still expected to grow strongly
worldwide. Healthcare organizations, in spite of tight budgets, are
investing in clinical information systems, and beginning to outsource
non-core operations, to improve their overall efficiency and offer
better patient care. eHealth initiatives continue to hold center stage
with vendors, government, healthcare providers and payers
collaborating on efforts to build health information exchanges, and
increase interoperability.

The highlight of the second quarter of 2008 was the surprise
purchase of IT outsourcer Electronic Data Systems (EDS) by IT giant
Hewlett Packard (HP). HP's massive $13.9 billion acquisition of EDS is
a strategy the industry views asa valid bid to take on market leader
IBM in the IT services space. With the services sector standing its
ground, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), another leading IT
services company, announced a separate industry vertical to focus
exclusively on healthcare. Meanwhile, Perot Systems grabbed a $1
billion, 13-year mega IT and business process services contract from
health insurance firm, Harvard Pilgrim.
