based in Gaithersburg, Maryland, has once again been named one of America's

"Achieving a 92.5% growth rate from 2004 to 2007 has been a great team
effort," says Robert F. Burgess, Jr., President & CEO of Heartline. "We have
developed a solid organization which not only strives to achieve company
ambitions but also celebrates each other's hard work and triumphs along the
way. It is this family atmosphere that has fueled our growth."
Despite rising costs and an uncertain economy, Heartline has continued to
thrive. "We are in the business of health and quality of life. The American
public is more aware than ever of the obesity issue and its effect on youth
and are willing to support efforts to overcome it," says Charles Amazeen,
Heartline's Operations Director. Despite budget cuts, middle and high school
athletic directors continue to realize the impact they have on young lives and
have fought hard to provide their students with the tools they need to learn
life-long fitness.
"The staggering statistics regarding obesity in this country are sign
enough that what we are doing is extremely critical," says Burgess. According
to the Center for Disease Control, the entire nation, with the exception of
one state (Colorado) have over a 20% obesity rate (BMI is 30 or higher). In
the Mid-Atlantic area, that number jumps to between 25-29%. The percentage of
overweight and obese Americans (BMI from 25% and higher) is between 57.6% and
79.6% depending on sex and race, says the American Heart Association's 2008
Statistical Fact Sheet. "While many fast food chains including Wendy's and
Dunkin Donuts are beginning to offer healthier alternatives, this alone does
not solve the problem," says Erin Marr, Heartline's Business Systems Analyst.
"We believe the solution is found in combining better eating habits with an
increase in both cardiovascular and strength training. Only then will these
statistics improve."
Since 1995, Heartline's promise has been to design, distribute and service
the highest quality strength training and cardiovascular systems available.
