ARROW ELECTRONICS AND SMSC ANNOUNCE INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION
AGREEMENT

Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW) today announced a distribution
agreement with SMSC that covers Asia (except Japan) and North and
Central America.

A global supplier of semiconductors that distribute video, audio,
photos and data in the home, automobile, office and factory, SMSC
develops semicustom and application-specific products that allow users
to access or transfer their digital content.

Among the SMSC products covered in the agreement are USB ports in
LCD monitors and set-top boxes, flash media card readers in printers,
and Ethernet ports used in gaming systems and digital televisions.

"We are excited to be working with SMSC in their focus markets -
mobile and desktop PCs, consumer electronics and infotainment, as well
as the industrial and embedded markets," said Jeff Eastman, vice
president of global supplier marketing and asset management for
Arrow's components business. "Bringing SMSC's products to Arrow's
customers will allow them to drive further the convergence of digital
content, whether in the home, office or car."

"Arrow's strong demand creation capabilities and broad
distribution infrastructure make them a natural choice to support
customers using SMSC solutions in computing, consumer, and embedded
electronics in Asia and North America," said Mitch Statham, vice
president of Worldwide Sales at SMSC.
