MAQUET Cardiovascular Responds to Terumo Complaint About VASOVIEW Endoscopic
Vessel Harvesting Systems

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- MAQUET Cardiovascular LLC
announced today that it was served with a complaint filed by Terumo
Cardiovascular Systems Corp. (Terumo CSC) in the United States District Court
for the Northern District of California. The complaint alleges that MAQUET's
VASOVIEW Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting Systems infringe a certain U.S. patent.
In April 2008, MAQUET filed patent infringement complaints against Terumo
CSC and Terumo Corporation with the International Trade Commission (ITC) and
in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California,
alleging that Terumo's VirtuoSaph(TM) endoscopic vessel harvesting system
infringes two MAQUET U.S. patents. The ITC case seeks to exclude the
infringing products from importation into the United States and the district
court case seeks monetary damages and an injunction. The complaint filed by
Terumo will not affect the actions filed by MAQUET.
MAQUET will continue to protect and enforce its intellectual property
rights, and will aggressively defend the law suit filed by Terumo.
