PLANO, Texas, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ViewCast Corporation
(OTC Bulletin Board: VCST), a leading global provider of streaming media
hardware and software, today announced that the readers of Streaming Media
magazine have voted the ViewCast Osprey(R)-700e HD video capture card as one
of three 2008 Readers' Choice Awards finalists in the Encoding Hardware
category. Nearly 4,000 readers of Streaming Media magazine voted in the annual
contest that recognizes those companies they feel develop the most innovative
streaming solutions.
"This year's Readers' Choice Awards presented more than 200 different
products and services from more than 150 different companies around the
world," said Eric Schumacher-Rasmussen, editor of Streaming Media magazine.
"The fact that there's so much competition for these awards is a reflection of
just how many competitive solutions are now available to consumers,
enterprises, and educational institutions looking for online video solutions,
and the fact that nearly 4,000 Streaming Media readers voted in the awards
shows just how passionately they feel about the tools they've chosen."
If selected as the winner at the Streaming Media West show on September
24, 2008, it would mark the second consecutive win for ViewCast in the
Streaming Media Magazine Readers' Choice Awards. The entire Osprey product
line won the Encoding Hardware category last year.
ViewCast President and Chief Executive Dave Stoner commented: "For more
than a decade, the ViewCast Osprey capture cards have set the industry
standard for high-quality, highly reliable streaming. We are very pleased that
the readers of Steaming Media magazine continue to recognize and appreciate
the quality of our products and that the Osprey-700e HD card has been selected
as a finalist for this prestigious award."
Winners will be announced at a gala reception at the Streaming Media West
show in San Jose, California, on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, in the Grande
Ballroom of the St. Claire Hotel.
