Global chip sales rise 7.6 percent in July - SIA

Sept 2 (Reuters) - Global semiconductor sales rose 7.6 percent in July from the previous year, helped by strong growth in consumer electronics, personal computers and cell phones, an industry group said.

Worldwide sales were $22.2 billion, up from $20.6 billion a year ago, the Semiconductor Industry Association said in a monthly report. (Reporting by S John Tilak in Bangalore; Editing by Himani Sarkar)
