Barnes & Noble to Open New Store at 112 Eisenhower Parkway Livingston, New Jersey

New Bookstore Debuts on September 17 NEW YORK--(Business Wire)-- Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the world's largest bookseller, will open a new bookstore on September 17 in the Livingston Mall at 112 Eisenhower Parkway, Livingston, New Jersey. Concurrently, the existing store at 518 West Mount Pleasant Avenue will close. The new store will stock close to 200,000 book, music, DVD and magazine titles and include a cafe serving Starbucks coffee. The new Livingston Barnes & Noble will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, and employ approximately 60 people from the community. The public is invited to a Preview Night Party at the new Livingston Barnes & Noble on Tuesday, September 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. A portion of the Preview Night sales will benefit Livingston Public Schools. Livingston Mayor Gary Schneiderman will host a Storytime at 6:30 p.m. and the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7 p.m. Local musician Joanna Burns will perform at 6 p.m. Music students from Caldwell College will perform at 7:30 p.m. Other activities will include children's crafts and sampling from local restaurants. The Livingston Barnes & Noble will stay open late on September 19 so readers can be among the first to pick up the new book Brisingr when it goes on sale at 12:01 a.m. on September 20. The store will also host a Brisingr Release Party on September 20 at 2 p.m. Brisingr is the third book in Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Cycle. Barnes & Noble's massive warehouse inventory is available in real-time, enabling its booksellers to order and confirm the availability of over one million titles at the click of a button. -- Large-scale children's department. Bigger than most typical bookstores and stocking more than 15,000 titles in an easy-to-browse environment, the "Barnes & Noble Jr." department is designed to appeal to children, parents, teachers and librarians. Children's Storytime will be held three times a week. -- Advanced technology movie, audiobook and music-previewing system. The store will feature RedDotNet, the most advanced listening and previewing technology. RedDotNet enables customers to preview select DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, audiobooks or CDs in the store, sampling a title by simply passing it under a scanner. Connected to the company's online electronic catalog, the store's listening stations make "browsing with your ears" a reality. Thanks to the latest technology, RedDotNet stations also allow customers to view a three-minute clip of more than 7,000 DVDs. The store's newsstand stocks more than 2,000 titles, including hundreds of hard-to-find specialty magazines. -- Wi-Fi Service.
