PIONEER INVESTMENTS
The U.S. fund management unit of Italy's UniCredit
(CRDI.MI) named Brian Stack, most recently at Long Trail
Investment Management LP, a small- and mid-cap equity hedge
fund firm that he co-founded, as portfolio manager of Pioneer
Growth Opportunities Fund and Pioneer Growth Opportunities VCT
Portfolio effective Sept. 3.
BNP PARIBAS (BNPP.PA)
The French bank named Alain Dib, most recently the bank's co-head of European high yield capital markets, as global head of its newly created distressed finance group. Dib will report to Frederic Janbon, global head of fixed income and Dominique Remy, global head of financing. [ID:nL4696840]
TD AMERITRADE (AMTD.O)
The online broker named Dave Kelley, the former chief information officer, as the new chief operating officer. Kelley has been with the company since 2006, and will replace Fred Tomczyk, who will become chief executive officer Oct. 1.
LAZARD (LAZ.N)
The investment bank hired Spiro Youakim from Citigroup Inc
(C.N) as a managing director and a senior member of its global
metals and mining financial advisory team. Youakim, 40, will be
based in London, where he previously worked as Citi's head of
European metals and mining investment banking.
WACHOVIA CORP WB.N
The fourth-largest U.S. bank said Craig Overlander will join on Sept. 15 as managing director and global head of fixed income.
Overlander previously worked for 26 years at Bear Stearns Cos, most recently as managing director and co-head of fixed income.
At Wachovia, Overlander will report to Ben Williams, head of global markets and investment banking, and will be based in both New York and Charlotte, North Carolina. [ID:nWNAB9618]
UBS (UBSN.VX) (UBS.N)
The Swiss bank rocked by more than $40 billion of credit
write-downs during the past year hired Goldman Sachs Group Inc
(GS.N) trading executive Carsten Kengeter as its new global
head of fixed income, currencies and commodities trading.
Kengeter, 41, was most recently a partner and co-head of Goldman's securities division for Asia, excluding Japan, with responsibility for all fixed-income markets in the region. He is expected to join UBS in "the early part" of next year, and will move from Hong Kong to London. [ID:nN04426640]
FRONT BARNETT ASSOCIATES LLC
Front Barnett, a Chicago investment firm, said Peter Goldman joined on Sept. 2 as a principal, lead investment research analyst and member of the equity investment committee. He joined from Chicago Asset Management Co, where for six years he was managing director of the equity portfolio team. Goldman has 24 years of investment research and portfolio management experience.
SALLIE MAE SLM.N
The student lender named Kenneth Fischbach, a former managing director at GMAC's Rescap mortgage unit, as senior vice president, corporate finance.
JEFFERIES CO INC (JEF.N)
Jefferies Putnam Lovell, the firm's asset management and
financial technology investment banking unit, has rehired
Karamvir Gosal, 35, as a managing director. He had left the
firm for Credit Suisse (CSGN.VX), where he advised on several
deals in the alternative asset management space.
CITIGROUP
The bank said Alberto Cribiore will join its institutional clients group as vice chairman, effective Sept. 8. Cribiore resigned as lead director of Merrill Lynch & Co's MER.N board.
BANK OF NEW YORK MELLON CORP (BK.N)
The New York-based bank named Robert Rupp executive vice
president and head of enterprise-wide market risk. Prior to
this, Rupp was with JPMorgan Chase (JPM.N).
CREDIT SUISSE
The bank announced new appointments for the private banking division in Australia with immediate effect. The company appointed Andrew Bird as director, senior relationship manager, based in Melbourne, and Lucinda Bloom as vice president, structured derivatives, based in Sydney.
Prior to this both Bird and Bloom were with Citigroup.
Credit Suisse also appointed Paul Aliprandi and Melissa Anderson as vice president for the wealth management team and assistant vice president, respectively, in corporate advisory services.
HERON INTERNATIONAL LTD
The property investment and development company said it appointed Harry Sihra as its finance director with immediate effect. Sihra joined the company from City Lofts Group.
COLLINS STEWART PLC CLST.L
The UK investment bank said it appointed Ben Cohen as an insurance analyst to strengthen its equity research team. Prior to this, Cohen was with UBS as a part of global reinsurance research team.
