Local Views from Home-Based Webcams Available on 'MyCam'

NEW YORK, Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- EarthCam, the world premier global
webcam network, today invited webcam owners in the path of possible hurricanes
Hanna, Ike and Josephine to post live views of their local areas.
As hurricane Gustav raged last weekend, EarthCam visitors tripled the
traffic on the popular international site to view local weather cameras from
already existing MyCam and public webcams.
With the free "MyCam" software, anyone can share and save live images on
an easily created personal homepage that includes local time and weather
conditions.
Using the new version of the free software, residents can transmit their
personal weather experience on their own webcam homepages choosing from a
distinctive, expanded group of templates. In addition, the software enables
creation of a photo gallery from webcams, PCs, digital cameras and mobile
phones. The webcam homepage can also be easily linked to or from existing
websites.
The EarthCam editor offers a library of themes and the option to create
personalized themes, as well as color text fonts and formatting. Each webcam
site includes the opportunity to market websites to generate funds.
All websites submitted will be considered for promotion on the EarthCam
site.
