Teamsters Local 100 Looks Forward to Congressional Hearings on DHL/UPS
Partnership

Statement from Local 100 Secretary-Treasurer Mark Overberg

CINCINNATI, Sept. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is a statement
from Mark Overberg, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 100 in Cincinnati,
Ohio. The local represents the dispatchers employed by ASTAR Air Cargo in
Wilmington, Ohio:

"The planned partnership between DHL and UPS for the delivery of air cargo in
the United States raises serious concerns that merit investigation. To that
end, the House Transportation Committee has scheduled hearings on Sept. 16 to
review this proposed collaboration. This is a welcome step by Congress to
determine if any antitrust violations have occurred as a result of this
proposal.

"The proposed closing of the Wilmington Air Park has serious repercussions to
not only the employees there, but the surrounding community. A proposed
closure of this magnitude and the loss of approximately 8,200 jobs calls for
intense scrutiny by all local, state and federal agencies affected.

"Local 100 supports the local, state and federal elected officials as well as
the grassroots activists who are involved in this effort. We greatly
appreciate their efforts and will continue to assist them in every way
possible."
