NCBCP and Florida Black Youth Vote! Host Justice Speak Out to Address Issues Important to Young Voters TODAY at 6 pm! Forum to urge voters to register, verify names on the voter rolls, and vote early The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation (NCBCP), Black Youth Vote and Florida Unity '08 Voter Empowerment Campaign will host a public forum Fri., Sept. 5, at the University of Central Florida Orlando, 6-8 PM. For more information call (321)689-7127. The event is the first of the NCBCP's nonpartisan Justice Speak OutTour through Florida. The forums seek to make sure young voters know what to do BEFORE they cast a ballot - i.e. verifying their names on voter rolls and locating their polling place in advance. The forums will also address issues important young people. Topics include: -- What the Youth Vote means in the 2008 Election -- How to protect your right to vote on Election Day -- The process for ex-felons to restore their voting rights -- Creating Young Entrepreneurs -- Closing the Wealth & Health Gap -- Opportunities in the New Green Economy WHO: The NCBCP, Black Youth Vote!, Unity '08 Voter Empowerment Campaign, local labor and civic leaders.
