Telefonica's initiative is designed to engage users through various
offerings by scanning Bidi Codes with their mobile phones, on billboards, in
print and on TV, to download mobile content to their mobile devices, and to
enable numerous applications.
UpCode USA CEO Jerald Cavitt states, "We are confident that the
partnership will give the Latin Mobile Marketplace a wider distribution
platform and additional interaction for Movistar clients. We understand
change, convenience and control with the need to give people access whenever,
wherever. Telefonica's Movistar campaign shows the many possibilities, a new
way of content delivery and other business applications." "This is just the
beginning of our international roll-out," Mr. Cavitt also stated.
UpCode Argentina Director Gustavo Mejalelaty states, "The main reason why
Telefonica de Argentina selected UpCode, was our Customer oriented attitude
that UpCode offered against any local or international competitor and because
of the flexibility of the solution. For example, first we customized the
UpCode reader to many of the old cell phone models still popular in the
region, second we developed an UpCode MMS decoder to do a massive campaign
using standard camera phones, and third we selected a flexible business
model."
    UpCode
UpCode(TM) includes an optical reader, using mobile devices to add

(data matrix, QR-code, 1D barcode or color code) or other type of tag gives
