CartoPac 2.5 Streamlines Enterprise-Level Field Data Collection
with Improved Vector & Raster Engines, Giving the Ability to Access
Large Datasets for Managing Extensive Infrastructures
FORT COLLINS, Colo.--(Business Wire)--
CartoPac Field Solutions, powered by Spatial Data Technologies
(http://www.cartopac.com), today announced the release of CartoPac
2.5, an enhanced edition of the company's flagship suite of CartoPac
mobile asset management solutions.
CartoPac 2.5 includes both a high-speed raster engine and an
improved vector engine. The vector engine is able to handle
significantly larger datasets for managing extensive infrastructures,
while the raster engine allows the display of multi-gigabyte imagery
layers that upload seamlessly, without interruption to the image on
the screen. These new features enable field workers to download large
datasets and gather extensive field data easily and with minimal
impact on performance.
With the most powerful memory on the market, CartoPac 2.5 enables
spatial queries and other powerful controls for more efficient data
collection. Additional CartoPac 2.5 features include laser range
finder controls to collect height, line and area data, and the
capability for automatic or one-click post-processing.
The CartoPac suite of technologies supports industry-specific
relational database models that are specific to your data collection
needs. CartoPac's customized solutions, which include hardware,
software, service and training, simplify every aspect of mobile asset
management, from data capture to post-processing to project
management. Additionally, intelligent forms based on a customized
office-to-field relational database structure support natural field
workflow and enforce data integrity.
Using the CartoPac Field Server, workers in remote areas can
access and submit information to the Enterprise Database from the
field using an Internet connection. The CartoPac 2.5 is an extension
of the Field Server, which allows for greater work crew flexibility,
eliminates paper forms and automates post processing, guaranteeing a
faster return on investment.
"Our focus has always been on helping field workers collect data
for critical assets and share that data with workers back in the
office quickly and easily," said Glenn Vlass, president of CartoPac
Field Solutions. "The feedback that we are receiving from our
customers - some of the largest oil and gas companies in the country -
is that they need a way to work with even larger amounts of data,
images and maps in the field on a mobile device. CartoPac 2.5 leads
the industry by making it easy for field crews to work with very large
amounts of data on a handheld computer."
Attendees at the GITA's 17th annual GIS for Oil and Gas Conference
in Houston September 21-24 can visit the CartoPac booth, #309, to see
product demonstrations, ask questions and learn more about the
company's mobile mapping and data collection solutions. CartoPac will
also present this latest technology at 1:50pm on the 24th as part of
the GITA Solutions Spotlight.
