ANN ARBOR, Mich., Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 700 Borders and

a.m. when the book officially goes on sale. To accommodate customers who
cannot attend the midnight release parties but still want to celebrate the

"Brisingr" is the third installment of Paolini's Inheritance cycle about
the farm-boy-turned-dragon-rider Eragon who must save the world from an evil
king. Borders expects the book to be one of the hottest selling young adult
titles of 2008. The retailer has been taking pre-orders for "Brisingr" since
January.
The midnight parties to celebrate the book's release include a trivia and
translation contest that will test customers' knowledge of "Eragon" and
"Eldest," the first two books in the Inheritance cycle. Next, attendees will
be provided a quote for which they must name the character who spoke the
words. Later on in the evening, fans can share their passion for the
Inheritance books by reading a favorite passage or sharing a story about their
experience reading Paolini's work during the "open mic" segment of the
celebration. Throughout the evening, there will be prizes for contest winners,
including special souvenirs and a chance to be first in line at midnight to
purchase the book. Customers attending early morning parties at Borders and
Waldenbooks can enjoy some of the same activities, including trivia and other
contests and will, of course, be able to purchase copies of the book.
Customers can pre-order copies of the book until Sunday, Sept. 14 at Borders
and Waldenbooks stores or at www.borders.com for pick-up during the parties.
"We're thrilled to celebrate the release of 'Brisingr' -- a title that
Christopher Paolini fans have been eagerly awaiting for months -- by hosting
release parties in our stores nationwide. These in-store celebrations will
provide customers the opportunity to share their passion for Eragon and his
adventures in a fun atmosphere filled with memorable activities," said Borders
Group Merchandising Director Diane Mangan.
Customers awaiting the release of "Brisingr" can watch Christopher Paolini
talking with fans about the Inheritance cycle and other topics on the "Borders
Book Club," the retailer's online video book club. The episode can be viewed
at www.bordersmedia.com/paolini .
In addition to the "Borders Book Club," two personal appearances have been
scheduled for Christopher Paolini at Borders. Both will include a presentation
by the author and a book signing. Tickets are required for both events and can
be obtained by contacting the stores as listed below.
