General Re Corporation Announces Salvatore R. Curiale as a New Board Member

STAMFORD, Conn.--(Business Wire)--
General Re Corporation, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, today
announced that Mr. Salvatore R. Curiale has joined its Board as an
independent director. Mr. Curiale is highly qualified for this
position given his extensive experience as a distinguished and
highly-respected insurance regulator. For many years, he served as the
New York State Superintendent of Insurance, and before then as Deputy
and First Deputy Superintendent of Insurance. Mr. Curiale has also
served as the Executive Director of the New York State Insurance Fund,
and more recently as an officer and director of Mutual of America Life
Insurance Company. He currently serves as an independent director of
Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company. General Re Corporation is extremely
