WHO: All media

WHAT: Ribbon cutting ceremony honoring Granite Hills High
School's new synthetic FieldTurf sports field.

WHEN: Friday, September 5, 6:30p.m.

WHERE: Granite Hills High School
           1719 East Madison Avenue
           El Cajon, California 92019

WHY: Granite Hills High School is celebrating its new synthetic
turf sports field, a much needed improvement to the high
school after years of playing on a washed up and over grown
field. Through the school's fundraising efforts, $1.2
million was raised from community partners such as Viejas,
who donated $250,000 to the project. The synthetic
FieldTurf was installed to be able to stand up to frequent
use, and the high school's 3,000 students, 25 varsity
teams, physical education classes and Pop Warner football
teams will all benefit from the improvement. Interview
opportunities with Supervisor Jacob, Viejas Chairman
Barrett, school administrators and other community partners
           will be available.
