Opens New Corporate Office in NYC to Complement Swiss Global HQ

NEW YORK, Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Landis+Gyr Holdings, the global leader
in energy management offering utilities next generation "smart grid"
solutions, today announced the appointment of Stan March as Senior Vice
President of Corporate Communications.
    Mr. March, 49, joins from STMicroelectronics, where he served as Group
Vice President of Investor Relations.

    In his new role, Mr. March has overall responsibility for the development
and implementation of Landis+Gyr's global corporate communications strategy.
Mr. March reports to Cameron O'Reilly, CEO of Landis+Gyr Holdings.

    Mr. March is based in New York City, where Landis+Gyr opened a new
corporate office to complement its global headquarters in Zug, Switzerland.
    The opening of the New York office reflects Landis+Gyr's continuing
commitment to the growing U.S. market, which already accounts for more than a
third of its global business. In recent weeks, Landis+Gyr has unveiled a
number of major deals with utilities across the globe, including one of the
biggest yet announced in the U.S. -- a four-year advanced metering contract
with Texas utility Oncor.
    Under the agreement, Oncor will deploy a next generation Landis+Gyr
advanced meter system to empower seven million Texas consumers, through 3
million homes and small businesses, to independently manage their energy
consumption, cut their energy bills and protect the environment.
    Smart metering solutions provide utilities with a two-way flow of data
required to manage energy use, efficiency and demand response and network
protection. Consumers benefit from improved usage information and with it, the
ability to reduce overall energy costs.
    At STMicroelectronics, Europe's largest semiconductor manufacturer with 10
billion USD in annual revenues, Mr. March was responsible for the company's
global investor relations program and all financial communications for the
company.
    Mr. March oversaw STMicroelectronics' listings in Paris, Milan and New
York where the company was included in many of the most prominent local
indices. Mr. March was responsible for the related communications and
disclosure requirements tied to the multinational listings.
    Prior to that, Mr. March worked at Tenneco, a US based diversified global
manufacturing company, serving in operating management positions as well as
working on merger and acquisitions and divestitures and the related
communications efforts for the 12 billion USD company.
    Before leaving Tenneco, Mr. March headed the investor relations program
and was part of the management team that led the final transformation of the
conglomerate into five strong companies.
    A former US military officer, Mr. March has both graduate and
undergraduate degrees in engineering.  While at West Point, he captained the
Army football team.
