Turner adds new concert dates to tour

LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - Tina Turner has added eight concert dates to her upcoming North American tour, which is scheduled to launch October 1 in Kansas City, Mo. The singer's 36-date arena trek wraps with a December 12-13 stand in Toronto.

Tickets for the newly added shows -- which include performances in Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Detroit, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York and Toronto -- go on sale September 15.

Turner's May 12 appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" will re-air around the outing's launch, which is her first tour since 2000. Dates are on the books through early April in Europe.

Additionally, Turner will release a compilation on September 30 via Capitol. "Tina!" features 16 hits from throughout Turner's career, and will include two new songs, "It Would Be a Crime" and "I'm Ready."

October 26: Dallas (American Airlines Center)

October 27: Houston (Toyota Center)

November 10: Atlanta (Philips Arena)

November 20: Detroit (Palace of Auburn Hills)

November 24: Washington, D.C. (Verizon Center)

November 29: Philadelphia (Wachovia Spectrum)

December 1: New York (Madison Square Garden)

December 13: Toronto (Air Canada Centre)
