Altria in talks to buy UST for over $10 bln: report

(Reuters) - Altria Group Inc (MO.N) is in advanced talks to buy UST Inc UST.N, known for its Skoal and Copenhagen smokeless tobacco brands, for more than $10 billion, the New York Times said, citing people close to the negotiations.

People involved in the transaction are planning to work through the weekend to complete the deal as soon as Monday, the report said.
