NEW YORK, Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Jackie de Crinis, senior vice president
of original scripted series programming since 2000, has been promoted to
executive vice president of original scripted programming, it was announced
today by Jeff Wachtel, executive vice president, original programming, USA
Network & co-head, original content, Universal Cable Productions. In her new
position, de Crinis will continue to report to Wachtel in the supervision of
scripted development and current series programming.
"Jackie is a bright, sophisticated creative executive with a great eye for
material and incredible relationships in the community," said Wachtel. "She's
been a key part of the great run of success we've enjoyed at USA. This
promotion is much deserved."
de Crinis (fka Jackie Lyons) has been an integral part of the USA
development team that is responsible for much of the network's consistent
ratings dominance. USA experienced a record-breaking summer, with the
distinction of airing an unprecedented total of five hit original scripted
series. MONK, PSYCH, BURN NOTICE, IN PLAIN SIGHT and LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL
INTENT dominated their time slots this summer, often beating the broadcast
networks and making USA the #1 destination in all of cable.
After joining USA in 2000, she was instrumental in bringing MONK from ABC
where she supervised the project's original development. The Emmy-Golden
Globe-SAG winning series stars Tony Shalhoub in the role as the brilliant,
obsessive-compulsive detective Adrian Monk. The show celebrated its 100th
episode last week and remains one of the highest-rated original scripted
series in basic cable history.
de Crinis' team managed the extremely successful move of LAW & ORDER:
CRIMINAL INTENT from NBC recently to USA in October 2007. She supervised the
development of the new USA original series IN PLAIN SIGHT, starring Mary
McCormack, which was the #1 new show on cable this summer. She is currently
overseeing the return of the Emmy Award-winning #1 new show of 2007 in P18-49,
THE STARTER WIFE, starring Debra Messing, which premieres Friday, October 10.
Both PSYCH (#1 new show of 2006) and BURN NOTICE (the #1 new show of 2007 in
P25-54) round out the network's current roster of hit series.
Additionally, de Crinis led the team in overseeing the development of two
highly-rated series on USA Network -- THE DEAD ZONE and THE 4400, which at the
time was the highest-rated and most-watched original series premiere ever on a
basic cable network.
A television veteran of 22 years, de Crinis was named one of Multichannel
News magazine's 2008 Wonder Women. As a television executive, de Crinis
oversaw a wide array of award winning series including "The X-Files," "Buffy
the Vampire Slayer," "Mad About You," "Once & Again," "The Practice," "Party
of Five" and "The Wonder Years."
de Crinis lives in Los Angeles with her husband and three daughters.
