SUGAR LAND, TX, Sep 29 (MARKET WIRE) --
Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- Medtronic
Incorporated (NYSE:MDT) (Minneapolis, Minnesota), one of the world's
leading suppliers of medical technology, is planning a 9% to 11% growth
over the next five years. One year after recalling Sprint Fidelis cardiac
defibrillator leads, or wires that connect defibrillators to the heart,
because of breakage in October 2007, Medtronic said it's aiming for a 5%
to 7% increase in its cardiovascular rhythm disease management (CRDM)
division for the next five years. Chairman and CEO William Hawkins said
at the UBS Global Life Sciences Conference in New York this week that the
CRDM business is recovering and that it is "moving now in the right
direction."
