Iberdrola in 6.4 million euro capital hike

MADRID Oct 7 (Reuters) - Spain's biggest electricity company Iberdrola (IBE.MC) said on Tuesday it had gone ahead with a previously agreed capital expansion worth 6.44 million euros ($8.75 million) to fund employees' share options schemes.

Iberdrola said it would issue some 8.58 million new shares at a nominal price of 0.75 euros each, and would offer them at 6.37 euros.

The company's shares closed at 6.78 euros, down 0.15 percent on the day. (Reporting by Martin Roberts)
