HELSINKI | Wed Oct 15, 2008 5:16am EDT

HELSINKI Oct 15 (Reuters) - Wholesale deliveries of mobile phones to retailers in Finland rose 41 percent year-on-year in September, the main industry organisation said on Wednesday.

The number of mobile phones shipped in Finland rose to 216,610 units last month, the Finnish Mobile Communication Suppliers Association said in a statement.

The average wholesale price rose to 143 euros ($195.4) from 129 euros the previous month.

Finland, home of top global handset maker Nokia (NOK1V.HE), has one of the most mature mobile phone markets in the world, and developments in the Nordic country are seen as an indicator of trends elsewhere. (Editing by Sue Thomas)
