LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Arrested Development" co-star Will Arnett is back at Fox with a deal to star in a new comedy project for the network.

The pact is said to be more far-reaching than a typical development deal, giving Arnett complete creative control over the writers, producers and directors he chooses to work with as well as over the content of the show that will be developed for him.

The deal is not tied to any studio, with writers from various outlets expected to pitch him ideas. Considered a likely collaborator is "Arrested" creator Mitch Hurwitz, with whom Arnett has said he wants to work again. Arnett provides voice-over for Hurwitz's new animated comedy for Fox, "Sit Down, Shut Up."

Arnett's wife, Amy Poehler of "SNL," also is primetime-bound, with a starring role on a midseason comedy on

NBC.
