TAIPEI Oct 23 (Reuters) - Taiwan's AU Optronics (2409.TW), the world's third largest LCD panel maker, said on Thursday its TV and PC panel shipments and prices would drop in the fourth quarter amid weak demand and oversupply.

AU expects PC panel shipments to drop by a low single-digit percentage amount in the fourth quarter from the third, while TV panel shipments would drop by a mid-teens percentage amount, CFO Max Cheng said at an investor conference.

It expects PC and TV panel prices both to drop by a low-teens percentage amount over the same period, he said, adding the company's overall utilisation rate would be about 70 percent in the fourth quarter. (Reporting by Baker Li; writing by Doug Young; Editing by Jonathan Hopfner)
