SGS Acquires the Serviços de Automacao PiD Ltda (PiD) Group in Brazil

SGS is pleased to announce the acquisition of the PiD Group, a leading brazilian
group specialising in valve calibration, maintenance, electrical assembly,
testing, training and consultancy activities. The company is head-quartered in
Esteio (Rio Grande do Sul), with offices in Rio de Janeiro and Espirito Santo,
Brazil.

Founded in 1991 and privately owned, the strategic acquisition of PiD expands
SGS' Industrial Services offering in the fast growing Brazilian offshore and
onshore oil and gas industry, biofuel and manufacturing markets. With 550 staff
PiD generates revenues in excess of BRL 28 million. SGS will now have 2'400
employees in Brazil.
