VOTE TO EMPOWER! Bus Tour and Rally in Swing State of Virginia

Cast Members of HBO's 'The Wire' to Attend All Tour Stops October 23, 24, &
25, 2008

NEW YORK, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Marc H. Morial, President and CEO
of the National Urban League, along with the National Coalition for Black
Civic Participation (Unity '08), the Black Leadership Forum, cast members of
HBO's show "The Wire," and other celebrities, will kick off the Vote to
Empower! Bus Tour and Rally, an urgent non-partisan voter initiative, in the
swing state of Virginia, October 23, 24, and 25. 

The overall goal of the bus tour is to increase voter turnout on Election Day,
Tuesday, November 4, and to ensure that the voices of ALL Americans,
especially those living in urban America, are fully represented in the 2008
election.  

The Vote to Empower! bus tour will make stops at several of Virginia's college
campuses, including Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia State
University and Norfolk State University.
