OAKS, Pa., Oct. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --SEI (Nasdaq: SEIC) announced today
it has been named one of the Best Places to Work by the Philadelphia Business
Journal. The announcement, which appears in the newspaper's October 17, 2008
issue, highlights SEI among the Journal's annual ranking of Philadelphia area
businesses. Winning companies were selected solely based on the results of a
random employee survey conducted digitally by Quantum Market Research. Survey
questions addressed many different aspects of office culture, including
employee engagement, quality of supervisor/employee relationships, and
compensation satisfaction.

Each company that participated in the nomination process was initially
submitted for consideration by an employee for one of the following
categories: Small Company (10-50 employees), Medium Company (51-100
employees), Large Company (101-1,000 employees), Extra-Large Company (1,001 or
more employees), and Headquartered Elsewhere. SEI was chosen along with eight
other companies as a winner within the Extra-Large Company category.

"We're very proud of our employees," said Alfred P. West Jr., SEI's chairman
and chief executive officer. "The attitudes and opinions of our employees
make our corporate culture, work environment, client experience, and the
overall employee experience here at SEI positive and engaging."
