Dairy Production Systems Seeing Production Gains with Empowered Water(TM) from
EAU Technologies
Electrolyzed drinking water to be used to enhance milk production and quality,
and cow health

ATLANTA, Oct. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dairy Production Systems (DPS),
based in High Springs, Fla., has confirmed positive increases in production
levels and milk quality for cows being provided electrolyzed drinking
water -- known as Empowered Drinking Water for Dairies, developed and provided
by EAU Technologies, Inc. ("EAU" or "Company") (OTC Bulletin Board: EAUI). EAU
manufactures and markets a process for creating Empowered Water(TM) for
high-volume, business-to-business applications, including clean-in-place
systems for food processing and sanitization.
The drinking water program between DPS and EAU began in 2007, at the DPS
dairy in Baconton, Ga. The formalized program at the facility operates with
half of the milking cows (approximately 1,400) receiving Empowered Drinking
Water while the remainder receives regular well water. Both groups receive the
same diets and animal care practices. Test results show that the cows
receiving Empowered Drinking Water produce more milk per day and have shown
increases in butterfat.
"We saw a marked increase in the production levels of the cows being fed
the Empowered Drinking Water as soon as 90 days into the operation. We had
expected a longer time frame to really see benefits, such as increased
persistence levels and improved animal health, but the positive production
results came relatively quickly," said David Sumrall, CEO of Dairy Production
Systems. "I can say that the Empowered Drinking Water is having a favorable
impact on our animals, and DPS is working with EAU to quantify all of the
positive effects the water has had, and continues to have, on our cows."
In creating Empowered Drinking Water, either well water or municipal water
is run through EAU's state-of-the-science, high volume electrolysis
generators, creating an alkaline fluid that is anti-oxidant in nature (ER),
and has an enhanced pH. In multiple dairy installations EAU has tested a
variety of water quality settings, finding that a tightly regulated pH and ORP
(measurable anti-oxidant capability) provide the best drinking solution for
dairy cows.
"Using Empowered Drinking Water, the objective is to increase the
efficiency and health of the cow by providing a water supply that enhances the
anaerobic conditions of the rumen. A cow's digestion is accomplished via a
four chambered 'stomach'; the first chamber being the rumen, which is a
complex organ containing enzymes and anaerobic micro-organisms, all thriving
in a low oxygen environment. Our oxygen scavenging water supply makes rumen
fermentation more efficient. Our studies have shown that the increased milk
and butterfat production are consistent with improved rumen function,"
explained Wade Bradley, President and CEO of EAU Technologies.
University studies have demonstrated that EAU's Empowered Drinking Water
can increase persistency of lactation as well as butterfat and protein
production while improving nitrogen efficiency. These improvements are
directly related to improved rumen function, enhancing the cow's ability to
produce milk efficiently.
Doug Kindred, EAU's Chief Technology Officer, points out that the
Empowered Drinking Water used for animals differs greatly from the Empowered
Water(TM) the company markets for food safety and sanitization. "The drinking
water we create for cows is produced with a very light electrical charge with
no salt added as an electrolyte," explained Kindred. "In addition, we utilize
very tight controls on pH and hydrogen enriching (anti-oxidant) levels for the
drinking water. EAU is unique in our ability to meet these parameters, and do
so while making tens of thousands of gallons of the Empowered Drinking Water
per day. On the other hand, our Empowered Water(TM) for sanitation is created
by combining salt and water with a strong electrical charge. The process
separates the positive and negative ions of the water, creating two streams -
one very acidic and one very alkaline, with both solutions being very
effective as cleaning and sanitation aids."
    About EAU:
EAU Technologies, Inc. (EAU) is a supplier of Electrolyzed Water
Technology (EW Technology marketed as Empowered Water(TM)) and other
complementary technologies with applications in diverse industries. EAU's
water-based and non-toxic solutions (at application concentration, the
solutions are non-toxic to humans and live animals) may replace many of the
traditional methods now used to clean, disinfect and nourish in large
industries such as agriculture and food processing. EAU has solutions for
existing bacteria, virus and mold proliferation threats. EAU continues to add
innovative and efficacious products that offer a systemic approach to pathogen
elimination in food processing plants and related industries, thereby
producing safer foods while protecting the environment through "Green
Technology." EAU has developed patent pending systems that are being used on
dairies to process drinking water for dairy herds. Studies and trials are
showing promising results at improving animal digestion which shows signs of
improved animal health and production. EAU uses terms like "green",
"natural", "non-toxic" and "organic" based on our NAMSA studies that show no
toxicity or cytotoxicity at levels as high as 70 ppm of HOCl. EAU uses only
water, food grade electrolytes and electricity to create all of its solutions.
The active ingredients in the solutions EAU creates through electrolysis are
GRAS (generally regarded as safe) approved. Please visit our website and sign
