Aqua-Chem Announces Purchase of Matrix

  KNOXVILLE, TN, Oct 23 (MARKET WIRE) -- 
Aqua-Chem has entered into an agreement to acquire the product lines and
specific assets of Matrix Utilities, Inc. Matrix designs and manufactures
the following applications: Reverse Osmosis Watermakers for land-based
desalination; Marine and Yacht RO Watermakers; Offshore Oil and Gas RO
Purification Systems for the Industry.

    Prior to acquiring Matrix, Aqua-Chem was a leading supplier of vapor
compression and waste heat distillation desalination systems. With the
addition of Matrix, Aqua-Chem has become a "one-stop" solution provider
for a full range of desalination systems and is able to offer the optimal
solution for every application.

    David Gensterblum, Aqua-Chem's President and CEO expressed "With the

and brackish water reverse osmosis systems rated from 2 tons per day to
over 1,000 tons per day. Matrix has been in business for more than 22
