SUNNYVALE, CA, Oct 23 (MARKET WIRE) --

WHAT: eSilicon Corporation's Director of DFT & Verification Solutions,
Joseph Reynick, will demonstrate the benefits of using advanced
physically-aware design-for-test (DFT) methodologies at the 2008
International Test Conference. eSilicon's use of the TestKompress IP
generation and automatic test pattern generation (ATPG) tool from Mentor
Graphics enables the company to accurately and thoroughly test chips in
the manufacturing phase, providing greater reliability and quality for its
customers. Physical design planning strategies and techniques that enable
low, or zero area impact from the insertion of the TestKompress scan
compression IP will also be presented. eSilicon is one of four companies
being featured at Mentor's exhibit booth, joined by ST Microelectronics,
TSMC and UMC.

During a recent complex ASIC design, engineers at eSilicon used Mentor
Graphics' solution to achieve a high degree of testability while reducing
test data volume, benefiting from the tool's embedded compression
technology. Also, the company was able to realize greater routing and cell
area efficiency at a lower cost without compromising test coverage using
TestKompress' advanced features.
