Savaria Corporation Announces the Nomination of Robert Champagne on its Board of Directors

LAVAL, QUEBEC, Oct 23 (MARKET WIRE) --
Savaria Corporation (TSX: SIS), the second largest company in the
accessibility industry in North America, is pleased to announce the
nomination of Mr. Robert Champagne to its Board of Directors. Mr.
Champagne is a Chartered accountant who brings extensive manufacturing
experience to the company. During his twenty-five years at Canplast, he
has lead plant expansions across North America, has implemented major
products re-engineering as well as Total Quality Management initiatives.

Mr Champagne replaces Kenneth McKinnon's who left Savaria's Board last
May in order to pursue other interests. Mr. McKinnon was on the Board of
Directors since Savaria's introduction on the TSX Stock Exchange and his
contribution has been greatly appreciated.

Mr. Champagne will also sit on the Audit Committee of the Corporation. Of
the seven members on Savaria's Board of Directors, Mr. Champagne is one
of three independent members.
