Governor David A. Paterson Receives First Honorary Degree from Polytechnic Institute of NYU New York's Governor was Awarded Honorary Doctorate at the University's Fall Convocation Announcing Polytechnic's new Affiliation with New York University NEW YORK, Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Governor David A. Paterson received the first honorary degree from Polytechnic Institute of NYU, at the first official convocation yesterday on the Polytechnic campus in Brooklyn. Polytechnic President Jerry Hultin and NYU President John Sexton presented the governor with the honorary doctorate before 500 students, faculty, alumni, board members and legislative leaders representing New York City. "It is my highest honor to be the recipient of the first honorary degree by the new Polytechnic Institute of New York University," remarked Governor Paterson.
