Mexico's Televisa posts lower net profit, revs rise

MEXICO CITY Oct 23 (Reuters) - Mexican broadcaster Televisa posted lower third quarter net majority profit on Thursday but its revenue rose, driven by its pay television units.

Grupo Televisa (TV.N) (TLVACPO.MX) earned 2.067 billion pesos ($189 million) in the July-Sept period compared with 2.287 billion pesos in nominal terms in the same period last year.

Accounting for inflation, net profit in the third quarter of last year was 2.4 billion pesos.

Analysts in a Reuters survey were expecting a quarterly net profit of 2.682 billion pesos. ($10.9490 as of end Sept) (Reporting by Cyntia Barrera Diaz; editing by Carol Bishopric)
