Qatar says investing globally for long term

DUBAI Oct 27 (Reuters) - The impact of the global financial crisis on Qatar's foreign investments is limited and its sovereign wealth fund is investing for the long term, the Gulf Arab state's prime minister said in remarks published on Monday.

Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim al-Thani downplayed the extent of damage on the Qatar Investment Authority and the country's economy from the decline in external financial stocks.

"We are looking at a long-term strategy in investment and not a limited or temporary strategy," Al-Sharq newspaper reported.
