AFTER THE BELL-Biogen shares dive after brain infection report

NEW YORK Oct 29 (Reuters) - Shares of Biogen Idec Inc (BIIB.O) slid 10.6 percent to $37.50 in after-hours trading after the company reported to regulatory agencies that a patient treated with Tysabri reported a brain infection.

Earlier this year, the company said two other patients on Tysabri, which treats multiple sclerosis, had developed the infection, known as progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy. For details, see [ID:nWEN9776]
