HERNDON, VA, Nov 03 (MARKET WIRE) --
The Equal Footing Foundation (EFF), the charitable arm of the Northern
Virginia Technology Council with programs for youth development and
education for underserved youth in the region, announced today that for
the third consecutive year, Sprint through the Sprint Foundation has
given a donation of $25,000 to support youth development and educational
programs. This year the donation will enable EFF to expand its robotics
and rockets program into a year-long initiative and support activities at
the Reston Computer Clubhouse and to support our Botball Robotics program
for all six Computer Clubhouses to help our students foster an interest
in engineering, technical design and computer programming.

"Sprint has been a tremendous partner to EFF's Computer Clubhouse programs
over the past three years. Through their sustained support, EFF is able to
deliver more of our programs focused on Science, Technology, Engineering
and Math, (STEM) to a larger group of students. Partnerships like these,
between corporate philanthropy organizations and local nonprofits create
better programs for the community. By leveraging the knowledge of local
nonprofit missions and programs and the financial impact of a corporate
foundation, we can build the kind of educational initiatives that this
area needs," said Colleen Hahn, EFF's president and executive director.

Equal Footing Foundation provides scholarships, youth development and
educational programs to underserved youth of Northern Virginia through a
community-based after-school program called the Computer Clubhouse. The
Computer Clubhouse program is part of an international effort dedicated to
offering resources, scholarships, technology and mentors for students in
need. The Foundation operates six Computer Clubhouses in Fairfax County
that serve 1,500 students a week and plans to launch a rural Computer
Clubhouse in Fauquier County in time for the 2008-2009 school year. Our
goal is to provide 'equal' access to resources to get students excited
about learning and fluent with technologies so they can develop skills and
experiences to compete in a skilled and educated workforce.

"We are proud to continue our relationship with the Equal Footing
Foundation," said Ralph Reid, vice president corporate Social
Responsibility and president of the Sprint Foundation. "We believe that it
is vital to invest in the communities in which we work and live. The Equal
Footing Foundation provides valuable educational opportunities for youth
in Northern Virginia and we are happy to help them expand the programs
they offer."

    About the Sprint Foundation

retirees, the Sprint Foundation creatively and thoughtfully delivers
Sprint's commitment to championing the communities where Sprint customers

    About Equal Footing Foundation

Equal Footing Foundation is a Virginia-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused
on youth development and education. The Foundation's goal is to provide an
equal opportunity environment where youth can access the tools needed to
successfully compete with a skilled and educated workforce. We accomplish
this goal by funding, launching and sustaining Computer Clubhouses in
partnership with local governments, businesses and other non-profit
entities. The Computer Clubhouses we support are centrally located within
established community centers, in close proximity to schools and bus
routes for easy after school access. The result is an innovative and safe
after-school learning center where children ages 8-18, many of whom do not
have access to technology at home, work with adult mentors to learn,
develop, and explore their potential. For more information, visit:
