SAO PAULO (Reuters) - The United States welcomes China's massive government spending package to boost domestic demand and help the Asian giant ride out the financial crisis, a senior U.S. Treasury official said on Sunday.

David McCormick, U.S. Treasury Undersecretary for International Affairs, made the remark at a briefing with reporters after a G20 meeting of finance officials and central bankers in Brazil's business capital Sao Paulo.
