** Less than a month after walking away from Wachovia Corp WB.N, Citigroup Inc (C.N) is in discussions to acquire another U.S. bank, the Wall Street Journal said, citing people familiar with the situation.

** Oilseed processor and fertilizer producer Bunge Ltd (BG.N) terminated its planned $4.4 billion acquisition of Corn Products International Inc (CPO.N) just five days after Corn Products' board withdrew support for the deal. [ID:nN10470994]

** Britain's Aurelian Oil & Gas Plc (AUL.L) said it agreed to farm out a 40 percent interest in the Poznan concessions in Poland to private-equity-funded Canamens Energy Ltd. [ID:nBNG68864]

** Sweden took over struggling investment bank Carnegie CAR.ST after a series of mishaps that drained the bank of funds and led regulators to revoke its licence. [ID:nLA178265]

** French geophysical survey group CGGVeritas (GEPH.PA) announced a $310 million agreed all-share bid for Norwegian seismic survey firm Wavefield Inseis ASA WAVE.OL sending both companies' shares higher. [ID:nLA174862]

** South Africa's media group Naspers (NPNJn.J) said it has reached an agreement with Telkom International (TKGJ.J) to sell Internet service provider MWEB Africa for $63 million. [ID:nLA333176]

** Buyout firm American Capital Strategies Ltd (ACAS.O), which currently owns 67.7 percent of European Capital Ltd ECAS.L, said it plans to acquire the remaining shares in the company for $158 million in stock. [ID:nBNG252547]
